Importing Files from URLs

You can import one or more files from the web into Live Editor by entering their URLs.

From the main Files list, click on the New File button:

Click on the Import Files from URLs option:

You'll be presented with a field for entering URLs of files to import or YouTube or Vimeo videos to keep record of:

In this field, you can enter URLs of any supported file type, one per line. The URLs will typically look like this:

  • https://www.example.com/assets/videos/demo.mp4

If the URL that you enter redirects to another URL, Live Editor will try to follow the redirects to get to the final destination.

After clicking the Import Files button, you'll be taken to the main Files screen. It takes a minute or two for Live Editor to download and process your files. After the data is processed, your imported files will start appearing in your list of files.

If Live Editor cannot download a file, or if the file is not of a type supported by Live Editor, then you will see an Import Failed badge below the file name:

If this happens, make sure that the file type is supported by Live Editor, that the URL sends a file with an extension (e.g., .png, .mp3, etc.), and that you get access the URL from your browser.
